A wonderful intruduction to a series as groundbreaking as the Carpathians, this novel shakes up everything you thought you knew about vampires. They do not act so very different from humans, and each hero and heroine in this collection is possessed of unique strengths and weaknesses. Their loves, however, remain constant, despite the odds being very much against them. I eagerly await the next in the series next year. --Amanda F. After reading this book, readers will be very glad to know that she is planning on writing four more stories to complete the continuing saga.
